Summer Youth Lessons

The youth lesson program is held Monday through Wednesday mornings from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and Monday through Wednesday evenings from 6-7 p.m. with Thursday as a rain make-up day. Lessons are divided by grade level and ability. QuickStart Evening (Ages 4-10) is held Monday through Wednesday from 5-5:45 p.m. with Thursday as a rain make-up day.

Lessons are structured in a drill and match format with an emphasis on the basics. Classes are divided by age and skill level with a student:instructor ratio of 8:1 or less.

All Lessons are held at the Shakopee Jr. High/Stans Park Courts located at the corner of 10th Avenue & Fuller Street

Session 2    July 2,3,5 (M,T,Th due to July 4th Holiday) July 9-11

Price  Session 1 $100
           Session 2 $70

Schedule
Grade 3-4       8:00-9:00 a.m.
Grade K - 2     9:00-9:45 a.m.    QuickStart
Grade 5 - 12   10:00-11:00 a.m. Players will be divided by ability
Ages 4-10       5:00-5:45 p.m.    QuickStart (beginner)
Ages 8-18       6:00-7:00 pm      Beginner/Lower Intermediate

The youth Lesson program runs as a complete session. Players see the most benefit and results with consistent attendance and more than 1 session. Players will be evaluated at the beginning of each session and placed with players of similar ability.

Make up sessions will be authorized due to illness and family commitments (vacation) on an individual basis at the discretion of the Director of Tennis

We are looking for parent volunteers to be team coordinators/drivers for team tennis and also need volunteers for the Summer Sizzler June 15-17, the USTA Team Tennis Area Championships July 16-17 and the Derby Days Dazzler August 3-5. These are big tournaments encompassing all the courts at the High School, Stans and Lions Parks. We are looking for set up, check-in, score table, ConStenson stand, drivers and tear down.
